I’m what you call a hacker, my community is facing an interesting, but sad, fear in the particular uncertainty we see looking forward.
Hacker counterculture is a massive global phenomenon. It is rooted in humanitarian ideas, but has been generally vilified by power.
We hackers watch along with our friends and families as policy makers and private institutions have taken extreme measures to stack the deck of law and egregiously sweep up huge swaths of our good people in the name of justice.
No different from other countercultures, we’ve seen monsters, traitors, and great heroes emerge from our community.
With great pain we have seen our own jailed and even killed over the years.
Hackers and many of our kin feel more threatened than ever given the political situation.
And so we find ourselves quite scared along with many of you.
It’s all very dangerous moving forward

-seriously, I’m not hacking the government or anybody but my own life and my own stuff.
