I live in Tallahassee, Florida where some 15+% of the general election swings on our electoral representatives. Right now, I’m a bit scared. I perceive a lack of enthusiasm about the Dems (duh) while support for Trump is palpable and more densely spread through the city. Here is the same as many American cities, the public already don’t vote in local elections. I.e. a blue state gets Rick Scott.
I worry that Florida will be very red this election, I’m worried that the disaffected vote is far stronger than believed. That is, I wouldn’t write the orange haired guy out until all the votes are counted. -self assurance is a very dangerous position, just ask David Cameron.
The Republicans and Trump enunciate the serious challenge of obstructionist assholes in government.
The elites compose an “insurgent party” as described in the writings of Noam Chomsky and evidenced by their insane, divisive, and uncompromising actions.
In some regard, I was happy to see Ted Cruz -or “Lucifer in the flesh”- deposed disgracefully, but not by Trump. Trumps is deranged and unacceptable, I found his bullying about Marco Rubio’s stature making me feel bad for Marco Rubio. Not to mention I wouldn’t trust him alone with women or cats.
That’s it. It is not a choice. Instead, we have inherited Trump or Clinton.
If Trump wins, he faces an economic collapse, he appoints 4000 people that won’t show up for work, and he’s insane.
If Clinton wins, she faces an economic collapse, she appoints 4000 people that will show up for work, and she is alarmingly cozy with Finance and more hawkish than Obama, The Drone King.
I can go on listing so many other things about Clinton, lies, dark money, surveillance, conflicts of interest, ect… that make her distasteful and unpopular. From the way both of them have been running in their campaigns since the primaries, neither of them should be contending candidates.
We all lose this election season. But after this morning, having seen that Breitbart opened it’s store under the hashtag #WAR, I am alarmed that the republicans are morphing and that Alternative Right looks like a very dangerous move towards overt fascism. As a Floridian, I can’t do much else but vote against that depravity. This isn’t about me.
If the democrats don’t get their shit in line in the next four years, if the economy collapses in that time (sure looks like it will), this dangerous radical nationalism will swing back and just might break an already limp country.
We are facing real crisis/existential threats, and nobody is coming to save us. We must therefore save ourselves.
Quit electing people like Rick Scott and Rubio, Florida.
